Ukraine showed a significant increase in grain exports during the marketing year 2022/2023. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the country exported 48.99 million tons of grains and pulses during this period. Compared to the previous marketing year, this represents a significant increase.

In particular, Ukrainian exports amounted to 16.836 million tons of wheat, 2.704 million tons of barley, 18 thousand tons of rye and 29.128 million tons of corn. Compared to the previous year, there was an increase in all these segments.

Data for June also shows a positive trend. During this month, Ukraine exported 3.658 million tons of grains and pulses. This is significantly more than in June of the previous year. Wheat, barley, and corn are the main products exported from the country.

One of the interesting aspects of the export analysis is the identification of the largest buyers of Ukrainian grain. According to data published by journalist Anna Kovalchuk on Facebook, Romania increased its participation in Ukrainian wheat exports from 0.5% to 15.8%. The value of Romania's exports increased from $26 million to half a billion dollars during the year.

Also worth noting is the increase in wheat trade with Spain, which increased its share from 0.8% to 14%. Exports to Spain totaled 2.5 million tons. Turkey has also significantly increased its participation in Ukrainian exports of wheat, barley, oats, and oil.

China is also among the largest buyers of Ukrainian grain. This country holds a significant share in the export of oil, corn, and barley.

Bangladesh is among the top 5 buyers of food grains, which purchased grain with UN funds. In addition, Poland holds high positions in the ranking of buyers of wheat, barley, and corn, which indicates its significant interest in Ukrainian grain.

It is worth noting that Poland is the largest consumer of rapeseed, rye, and oilcake, which it buys in significant volumes.

Ukraine is successfully developing its grain export capabilities, increasing volumes and attracting new buyers. This contributes to the development of agriculture and economic stability of the country.
