The government has made an important decision to support the agricultural sector by announcing an increase in the compensation fund for farmers for the demining of agricultural land. The previously planned fund of UAH 2 billion has now been increased to UAH 3 billion. This became possible due to the government's decision.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal made the announcement during a government meeting, emphasizing the importance of the new support program for the agricultural sector. According to him, 80% of the cost of demining will be compensated to farmers. This will create additional incentives for safe work on land plots.

One of the key aspects of this program is the procurement of services through the Prozorro system. This will minimize the risk of corruption and ensure transparency in the selection of demining service providers. This approach will help create healthy competition in the humanitarian demining market.

"We expect that the first demining procurement under this program will take place in May-June this year," the Prime Minister said. This means that farmers will be able to immediately use this support to ensure the safety and efficiency of their operations.

The increase in the compensation fund is an important step in ensuring the security of the agricultural sector and protecting the rights of farmers. This program will help support agricultural development, increase production and improve working conditions in rural areas.
